Sangkuriang himself has gone wandered around the world. He go to a lot of powerful hermits to study magic. So he is not a boy anymore. He has grown into a young man who is strong, powerful, and mighty. After a long time he walk to the east finally arrived in the west again. And unknowingly he had returned to Dayang Sumbi, his mother was. Sangkuriang doesn't recognize the beautiful princess that he founded, was his mother. Because Dayang Sumbi did asceticism and only eat raw plant, so she became stay beauty and youthful.

At first, Dayang Sumbi also didn't realize that the handsome knight was her own son. Then they both intimate dating. When Sangkuriang was leaning tenderly and Dayang Sumbi was combing the Sangkuriang hair, accidentally, she know Sangkuriang was her own son from scars on his head, former being hit by her spoon. She also explain to Sangkuriang that he was her own son and she was his mother.

However Sangkuriang still force to merry her. Dayang Sumbi desperately trying to refuse. So she maneuvering to determine proposal requirements that can not fulfilled by Sangkuriang. She ask Sangkuriang to make one ark and lake in one night by stem the Citarum river. Sangkuriang take that requirement and promised that he was capable to do that.

Then be made the ark from a tree on the east, stump tree turned into a Mount Bukit Tanggul. The branches stacked up on the west and turned into a Mount Burangrang. With the help of guriang (spirits), the dam was almost completed. But Dayang Sumbi begged to Sang Hyang Tunggal so that Sangkuriang intention can not be realized. She spread cloths boeh rarang (her own weaving white cloth), and so the white cloth glowing like dawn broke across the eastern horizon. Guriang spirits the servant of Sangkuriang are frightened because they thought it was began to the morning, they run way, and disappear into hiding in the ground.

Because he failed to qualify Dayang Sumbi, Sangkuriang became furious and rages. At the peak of his anger, he break the dam was located in Sang Hyang Tikoro, and threw the stopper flow Citarum river to the east and transformed into Mount Manglayang. Water in Talaga Bandung (lake) became receding again. And the ark that he made by hard work, kicked out to the north turned into Mount Tangkuban Perahu (Mount Capsized Ark).

Sangkuriang continue to pursue Dayang Sumbi who ran away to escape pursuit from her own son who had lost his common sense. Dayang Sumbi almost caught by Sangkuriang in Gunung Putri (Mount Of Princess), and she begged to Sang Hyang Tunggal in order to save her. Then she transformed into a flower (jaksi flower). As for Sangkuriang he had arrived at the place called Ujungberung (edge of desire) and finally he disappeared into invisible realm (ngahyang). Sangkuriang and Dayang Sumbi never meet each other again.

Chapter 2 

One day, Dayang Sumbi are craving to eat a deer liver. So she ordered Sangkuriang accompanied  Tumang to to the forest to hunt. Then Sangkuriang and Tumang are going together to the woods.
After a long time Sangkuriang hunting. He didn't see any animal appear although just one rabbit. Until he see a wild fat pig ran from the bushes. Sangkuriang ordered Tumang to chase the wild boar which was Wayung Hyang.  But because Tumang recognize Wayung Hyang is the grandmother of Sangkuriang, he disobey Sangkuriangs orders.

Sangkuriang was angry, so he scare Tumang by arrows. But the arrow accidentally detached and it pierced Tumangs body. Tumang died by that arrow. Sangkuriang was confused. Because he didn't got any hunted animal, he butchering Tumang and take its liver. Then he give Tumangs liver to Dayang Sumbi. She received it, cooked and then  eaten.

After Dayang Sumbi know that she ate Tumangs liver, her own husband. So her anger was heightened, immediately she hit Sangkuriangs head by spoon made of coconut shell. Sangkuriangs head was injured. He frightened and running away from home.

Dayang Sumbi who regretted her actions had expelled her son, searching and calling out to the woods. She begs him to come back. But Sangkuriang has gone. She was very sad and the she pleaded to Sang Hyang Tunggal in order later reunited with her son. For that, Dayang Sumbi run meditation and only eat plants and raw vegetables.

The Legend of Mount Capsized Ark

Chapter 1

Ancient times in heaven there is a fair of god and goddess who make mistakes. So by Sang Hyang Tunggal   (The King of Gods) they cursed down earth in the form of animal. The goddess turned into a wild boar named Wayung Hyang, while the god turned into a dog called Tumang. They had down to earth to their punishment and mediation for forgiveness. In order to return their form into god and goddess again.

One day, King Sungging Perbangkara was hunting animal in forest. In the middle of forest, The king throwing his urine which deposited in coconut shell. Then, a female boar named Wayung Hyang who was mediating and thirst, drink urine king involuntarily. Wayung Hyang miraculously became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby, because basically she is a goddess. Then, a beautiful baby was founded in the woods by The King who doesn't realize that she is his daughter. The baby girl was taken by his father to the palace and named Dayang Sumbi alias Rarasati. Dayang Sumbi grow up into very beautiful girl. Many kings and prince who wanted to ask her hand, but no one accepted.

Finally, the kings attacking each other. Seeing that chaos, Dayang Sumbi at her own request to exile in the hill with a dog named Tumang.On one day, as she weave the cloth, torompong (piston) which was used to weave cloth fell down under the bale-bale (some kind a bad made from bamboo). Because feeling lazy, come out saying without any thought before, she promised anyone get that piston, if he males will be her husband and if she would be her sister. A male dog named Tumang get that piston and given to Dayang sumbi. Due her words before, Dayang Sumbi must hold firm her oath and promise, then he would be married to Tumang. Because embarrassed, Dayang Sumbi exiled by the kingdom into the forest to live only  with Tumang.

On the night of the full moon, Tumang can return to its original form as a handsome god. Dayang Sumbi thought she was dreaming of making out with a handsome god was the true original form of Tumang. And then Dayang Sumbi pregnant and subsequently she gave birth a baby boy named Sangkuriang. Sangkuriang grow into a strong and handsome boy.

Dam Walahar

The Dutch East Indies Heritage Sites

Walahar dam is one of the Dutch East Indies heritage sites. First named Parisdo. The dam began to be used on November 30, 1925. Written on the walls "Bendungan Parisdo Kali Tjitarum Mulai Dipakai 30 November 1925 Untuk Mengairi Sawah Luas 87.506 ha". It means Parisdo dams Citarum River into use on November 30 year 1925 to irrigate on area 87,506 ha. This dam has not changed since the first until now. Just the colours of paint wall has been changed. The dam despite being 88 years old still works fine. This dam Citarum river basin hold a width 50 m, forming the reservoir area of 15 in the lowland in the north coast.

Dam Walahar

Unfortunately.. we didn't know who the architect of dam walahar. We only know the dam project was started since 1918 and completed in 1925, supervised by an expert in Dutch waters, he is C. Swaan Koopman. May be among the readers know who is the architect. And if you know, please tell me..Just leave comment on this page, and thanks... I appreciate that.

Present. In addition of primary function the dam to irrigate to fields, surrounding communities also enable it to other purpose. As a place of recreation and fishing. Every holiday a lot of people come here. Most of them are teenagers, but adults are also not few. They come for a walk or just jogged.

In addition, there is a culinary tour, street markets, children ground, and a place to relax and fishing. Here we can eat, we can shop, we have sport and pleasure. Famous culinary menu in this place is spiced fish "Jambal ala Haji Dirja". Fish meat is very tender and it was very tasty too. If you want, you need to come...!

The dam is located in Karawang. A small town on the outskirts of capital Jakarta. To reach the location, you can get a toll Jakarta-Cikampek and then exit the toll booth east Karawang. Then turn right at the road junction. Just watch the traffic light. And of course you can use google map or Nokia drive, and the other one.
